Frequently Asked Questions

When are rehearsals?

Rehearsals are held Tuesdays from 7-9pm at the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center.*

When are concerts?

Concerts occur twice per year, the first in December and the second in April.*

Do I need to audition?

No! Anyone with at least two years of playing experience is welcome to join the orchestra or the band, regardless of how long it's been since you last played.

Interested woodwind and brass musicians may need to audition for a seat if they wish to participate in full orchestra. Orchestral wind players will be asked to rehearse and perform with the band as well. 

How much does IT COST?

Membership dues for the full DCE season (September through April) is $200. Payment plans and financial aid are available.

When will music be available?

Music will be available to download electronically one week prior to the beginning of each concert cycle. Physical copies of the music will also be provided to DCE musicians at the first rehearsal of each cycle.

I may need to miss some rehearsals, will that be a problem?

While it is important for DCE musicians to attend rehearsals regularly to prepare for each performance, we understand other obligations can make attending every rehearsal difficult. There is no attendance requirement to participate, however excessive absences will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. 

Do you provide instruments?

Unfortunately no, but we may be able to point you in the right direction!
